Professional Language and Cross-Cultural Competency
Modern and Classical Languages offers a certificate which is designed to advance linguistic proficiency while at the same time develop cross-cultural competency and sharpen critical thinking skills.
Certificate Requirements
12 credit hours required in one of the following languages: Arabic, French, Spanish. All courses must be in a single language.

If foreign language placement is 202 or above, 305/306 will be required and additional courses that focus on culture and/or professional topics from the following to total minimum of 12 credits:
ARBC 301, 331, 332, 350, or 351
FREN 301, 336, 337, 338, 339, or 375
SPAN 301, 321, 350, 351, 356, 357, 358, 406, 409, 420, 450, 451, or 465
Notes:
- No courses may be taken as pass/fail.
- A 3.0 GPA in the courses within the certificate is required.
- Certificate credit can be shared with a major, or minor, or other certificate.
