Academic Honors

Honor Scholars Recognition

Students who have achieved superior academic performance are invited to and individually recognized at an Honor Scholars Awards Dinner held in late March each year. Those honored include active undergraduate and graduate students, one per degree major, with a specific minimum GPA, a specific minimum number of credit hours, and other criteria deemed appropriate by the School, College, or Department. Graduation Honors

With Distinction

Students who graduate and have obtained a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7 but less than 4.0 are recommended for graduation "With Distinction". This distinction is noted on transcripts and diplomas as With Distinction. Graduation distinctions are not calculated and granted for graduate programs of the College of Education, Health, and Human Services or for any graduate College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters programs affiliated with the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies. 

With High Distinction

Students who graduate and have obtained a cumulative GPA of 4.0 are recommended for graduation "With High Distinction". This distinction is noted on transcripts and diplomas as With High Distinction. Graduation distinctions are not calculated and granted for graduate programs of the College of Education, Health, and Human Services or for any graduate College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters programs affiliated with the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies.
